Beach Cookout

Beach Cookout

On Wednesday the 1st of July 2020 Room 8 went to the Karoro beach for a beach
cookout. We were put in teams that we sort of got to choose, in my team was Billie W,
Cooper, Hamish, I and the team leader was Suzi. We did the beach cookout because
it is a part of the William Pike Challenge.

The first thing we had to do before we could go to the beach was we had to do RAMS.
RAMS
means Risk Assessment Management Systems, the point of a RAMS is to be aware
of what could go wrong and how we could prevent something bad happening.

We walked to the beach altogether and then went off into our teams. We found the spot
where we were going to build our fire and then we went and got tinder, kindling and
fuel for the fire. We made a tp fire but flattened it out so that we could put the pan on it.
In our team we decided to make bacon sandwiches with homemade chips and as a
dessert we made pancakes with banana.

We first fried the potatoes that had been boiled the night before. After the potatoes
were cooked we ate them and then cooked up the bacon and then made the bacon
sandwiches and ate them. Lastly we shaked up the pancake mix and put some on the
pan and added a few slices of banana.

After we had eaten our pancakes we put the fire out by putting water and sand on it
and we also partly cleaned the pan in Watson’s Creek. After the whole class got back
together we walked back to school.
